Welcome to Humble Sweets Asian Desserts Bakery in Montreal!
My name is Eunsol, and I’m the owner and head baker of Humble Sweets Bakery. :)
I’m originally from Korea and have been living here for 7 years now.
Here’s a picture of me that I took when I was in Korea! :)

I want to introduce you to my bakery, Humble Sweets, since this is my first time meeting you! :)
First, what’s the meaning behind the name "Humble Sweets"? The "humble" in Humble Sweets refers to things that are honest and truthful — qualities that my home bakery strives to embody. Our desserts are delicious but not pretentious. "Humble" also speaks to the sweetness level. We aim to offer desserts that aren't overly sweet, but perfectly balanced to satisfy your cravings.
There’s a whole story behind why I decided to open my own bakery, but most importantly, I wanted to offer less-sweet Asian desserts in Montreal.
When I asked friends and acquaintances about the lack of certain bakeries in Montreal, many expressed frustration that local baked goods are often too sweet and lack authentic flavors. Some people even mentioned that they’re hesitant to spend their money and calories on overpriced treats that don’t meet their expectations.
I could totally relate! Growing up in Korea, I often found that desserts in Montreal were too sweet compared to the more balanced ones I was used to. I missed the not-too-sweet Asian desserts from the stores I loved in Korea. (Don't get me wrong! I love some Montreal bakeries! Especially, Riyue is one of my favorite Asian-dessert cafés in Montreal.)
Let me share a little story about how much I miss them. After returning from a long visit to Korea, I had a dream about my favorite cake shop. It wasn’t anything special, but I vividly remember enjoying a piece of sweet potato cake at my grandma’s house one morning. It was from the bakery I visited every week, and I would have it for breakfast every day! When I woke up and realized it was just a dream, I felt so sad. What made it even worse was that there was no bakery like that here. I just really wanted to either go back to Korea or somehow bring that bakery to Montreal.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t much I could do, so I decided to bake for myself instead. From that moment, I started to enjoy baking by myself or with my friends! Here is one picture of my creations I want to share with you! It's an Oreo Mini Roll I made when baking started to become my favorite thing to do!

I loved sharing my creations with friends, family, and coworkers. I felt so happy and fulfilled when people in Montreal complimented my Asian-inspired desserts. Those who were curious about or missed certain types of Asian desserts could finally satisfy their cravings.
As time passed, my dream of opening my own bakery began to come true, even if it was a small one. The idea of sharing my baked goods with more people fills my heart with warmth. 🥰 I love the whole process of baking, and I can’t wait to bake for you and others who are interested in trying my treats in the future.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day or evening!
